James J. Navagh of Holmdel died peacefully at home on October 9, 2013. He was born in Manhattan and was a proud alumnus of Regis High School and Fordham University. While he worked as a systems analyst at E.F. Hutton for most of his career, Jim's true vocation was as a devoted husband and father. Jim was also an active member of St. Catharine's Parish in Holmdel. He served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the first Parish Council, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the St. Andrew's men's group. He is survived by Kathleen, his loving wife of 45 years; daughters Eileen Conrad, Sheila Buck, and Jeanne Navagh; and grandchildren Kevin, Delaney, and Matthew Buck. Visitation will be held at Holmdel Funeral Home at 26 South Holmdel Road on Sunday, October 13 from 2 – 6 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Catharine's Church in Holmdel on Monday, October 14 at 9:15 a.m. followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House online or at P.O. Box 731 New York, NY 10108-0900.

My memory of cousin James dates to my early teen years. Living in Co Mayo Ireland. Aunt Kate sent a photo of James in his military uniform. I was so taken knowing this was my very handsome cousin that I brought the photo to school and showed it to All my teen friends. I felt very special. Over the decades in NY James and Kathleen have included us in all their family occasions. We will miss his presence. God grant him peace and bestow blessings on his loving family.
