John B. Bucciero, 98 of Freehold, passed away Wednesday September 26th at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. Mr. Bucciero was born in Italy and had lived in Flemington and Elberon before moving to Freehold in 1998. He served in the Pacific in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was honorably discharged as a Captain. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Spanish. He received his Master's Degree from Rutgers University. Mr. Bucciero taught for the Hunterdon Central Board of Education for many years. Mr. Bucciero was pre-deceased by his wife Rose Costa Bucciero in 1996 and his four sisters. Surviving is a son, John Bucciero, Fieldale, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Steve Hitchcock, West Haven, Ct.; two grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Denise Bucciero and Gina Bucciero; seven great grandchildren, Maggie, Kasey, Nicholas, Rebecca, Anthony, Joseph and Chasity; and one great-great grandchild, Dante. Visitation will be Sat. Sept. 29th, 10 am until the funeral service at 12 noon, at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch.
