Jose P. de Oliveira, 92, of Holmdel, passed away at his home peacefully in his sleep.
Jose was born and raised in St. George, Azores, Portugal. In 1948, he would immigrate to the United States on a Student-Visa and ended up in California. It was there that he married the love of his life, Ana in 1953. In 1969 they would move to New Jersey and Jose would take a job as an able Seaman and later would become a cook for Exxon on oil tankers. His job would take him all over the world and he had a passion and dedication for his work.
Jose (Joe) loved playing cards, barbecues with the family, the work he did for Exxon, the love for wine in his later years and just spending time with his family.
Jose is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Ana; his children Leonard de Oliveira and his wife Tina, and Diane Aliprandi and her husband Christopher; his brother George and his wife Maria; and his grandchildren Joseph, Anna-Maria, David, Michael, Daniel, and Samantha.
