Lovingly known as Jay by his family and friends, he was born in Kearny, NJ on April 9,1968 to Joseph and Joan Osowski. Jay was raised in the Leonardo section of Middletown, NJ. He was a graduate of Middletown High School South, where he excelled in academics and athletics. He began college at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a degree in Engineering and playing soccer for the UConn Huskies. Jay was later accepted into the US Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School, where he learned to fly Naval Jets. Jay was well respected in his field; he worked in many industries including aerospace, telecommunications, medical devices, and defense as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Outside of work, Jay had many hobbies that he was truly passionate about. He loved to fish, spending long nights offshore hunting tuna and day trips off Sandy Hook searching for fluke. His lifelong enthusiasm for soccer led him to play at highly competitive levels and inspired him to share that joy as he coached his children. He never missed one of their sporting events.
Jay’s true love was his family; he and his wife Leah along with their children loved being together. Fishing on an early summer morning, playing in the pool, or picking peaches at the orchard. Jay always spent time with his wife and children outside of work, never missing a meal at the dinner table with his family. Jay was a smart, gentle man who was a wonderfully loving husband and father.
