John Vincent Ruane, 72, of Marlboro, passed away at his home on Saturday surrounded by his family.
John was born in Elizabeth and raised in Roselle Park, he graduated from Roselle Catholic and then went to Rutgers for his undergraduate and master’s degree. From college he spent the first half of his career at Ernst and Young and then went into corporate finance.
John married the love of his life, Renate, in 1978 and raised their family in Marlboro. He loved to watch Manchester City, the Giants and the Yankees. He enjoyed a good book, was a history buff, liked classic rock and in his later year’s classical music, an episode of Law and Order and loved to do anything with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Renate; his children Eric, Scott and Brian and his wife Sasha; his siblings Edward and his wife Jill, Debbie and her husband John and Donna and her husband Charlie; and loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, March 27th at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel’s main Church, 100 N. Main Street, Marlboro, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum.
