Leonard Ira Vogel, 92 of Ocean Township, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 2nd.
He was born in Long Branch and raised his daughters with his first wife Francine in West Long Branch before moving to Ocean Township 35 years ago.
Mr. Vogel was a graduate of Long Branch High School and a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He began his career at Vogel’s Department Store. He continued with his career in the fashion industry, before becoming an administrator for NJPAC.
Leonard was extremely active well into his 80’s. He loved skiing and often traveled out west with the West Long Branch Ski Club.
He was a very competitive tennis player, playing 3 times a week. He was an avid NY Giants fan and boxing enthusiast.
Leonard enjoyed his summers body surfing at the Breakwater Beach Club. He loved his dogs, Sophie and Sammi.
He was adored by his children and grandchildren.
His first wife Francine passed away in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Francine; sister Hermine Siegel; daughters Geri Zuck along with her husband Glenn Zuck, and Jennifer Vogel; grandchildren-Jordan Zuck and his fiancé Leina, and Blair Zuck; step-sons Ahron, his wife Linda, Joshua, his wife Aynur, and Adam Hakimi; grandchildren – Benjamin, Sydney, Jeremy, Chi and Daria.
Private funeral services Sunday, Feb. 8th , 11:30 am at Monmouth Fields Cemetery, North Linden Avenue, West Long Branch. The Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
