Martha A. Shields died Monday (12/15) at Laurel Bay Nursing Home, Keansburg. She was 90. Born in West New York, NJ she lived in Englewood prior to moving to New Milford where she spent most of her life. Mrs. Shields was a homemaker. She was a life long member of Vasa Order of America, Baltic …

I am thankful for the afternoon I spent with Aunt Marty in June... 4 hours of hand holding, crying, hugging. We didn't even have to speak... she would glance my way and that would be enough for her and me. Her thick, silver hair had a cropped cut, and she was still 'a stunner' and beautifully dressed. The staff knew she was a lady of class they told me. They were right... she always was. So, here's a toast to my very special Godmother. Skal! I miss you already... God Bless, Ann Marie
