MARY E. CARPENTER, 74, formerly of HOLMDEL passed away on Monday August 31st, at the Tidewell Palliative Care in Sarasota, Florida. Born in Jersey City, NJ she lived in Holmdel for 30 years before moving to Longboat Key, Fla. 10 years ago. Mrs. Carpenter was a former member of the Holmdel Township Zoning Board. A parishioner of St. Benedicts R.C.Church in Holmdel, she was a Eucharist Minister and a Religious Education teacher, and a former board member of Manna House. She was predeceased by her husband John 'Jack' Carpenter in 2006. Surviving is her son John Carpenter and his wife Denise of Hazlet, her daughter Patricia Kraemer and her husband Andrew of Mount Olive N.J., and Ann Goulburn of Basking Ridge N.J., 9 grandchildren, and her sisters Anne O'Donnell, Lila Nelson, and Louise Kennedy. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to The Manna House, 640 – Cliffwood Avenue, Cliffwood Beach, NJ. 07735 would be appreciated.

I and many others here on Longboat Key will miss the smiling face of our friend Mary. It is a pleasure to have known such a wonderful person. Always so positive, loving and faithful. May God keep you all in the palm of His hand.

We are very sad for Aunt Mary's family, and for ourselves, as we will miss her very much. She was always ready with a smile to lighten your spirit and brighten your day. She cared very deeply about so many important issues and she knew so much about so many things. We will miss her humor. We admired the strength she showed all her life. She was a wonderful aunt to us. She recently visited our mom to comfort Lorraine, showing her caring and loyalty to her sister-in-law. We were fortunate to be visiting at the time and happy that we had some unexpected time with Mary. We grieve over the shock that we won't see her again.

So many memories of the great times both here in Vt and at your home. You leave a void for anyone that knew you.

Hi my name is Elaine Virgo from TakeCare Home Health Aid. I was the person who sent Mary to the hospital and I just want to send my condolences to her family. I will never forget our last conversation, she said "will i see you tomorrow Elaine" and I answered "maybe tomorrow, maybe never" and she said "never is a longtime". I will never forget that.

I have wonderful memories of Mary. She had a fun loving, calm spirit and a great sense of humor. I remember so much from our days in Vermont, my visits to New Jersey and many family events. My thoughts are with you all. I wish I could be with you.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Mom, I can not believe you are gone, and will be a long time to accept that you are not with us. You will be missed so very much. You truely are the best mother anyone could ask for . I love you and will miss you terribly. Love your son. John
