Michael A. Scavone, 60, of Hazlet passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Bayshore Community Hospital. Born in Newark, Michael lived in Oak Ridge prior to moving to Hazlet 26 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 2011, Michael was an Electrician Foreman for IBEW Local 102 in Parsippany, N.J. He was a member of Monmouth Car Toppers Fishing Club, and was an avid N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Yankee fan. He loved riding his Harley Davidson. Michael was a loving husband and a devoted father who cherished a close relationship with his son and best friend Michael. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Scavone Sr. He is survived by his wife Coreen of 39 years, by his mother Agatha Scavone, by his son Michael Vincent Scavone, by three sisters Barbara Gannon, Shirley Chant, and Linda Scavone, by several nieces and nephews., and many devoted friends. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 – South Holmdel Road, Holmdel on Monday Sept.16th from 3:00 to7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10:00AM, at St. Benedict R.C. Church, 165 – Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory would be appreciated – The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey 1 – AAA Drive, Suite 203, Trenton, N.J. 08611

Michael's attitude and work ethic made him a pleasure to work with. My father also worked with Mike and enjoyed sharing memories of Newark with Michael.
