Nancy McCaffrey Volmer, 81 of Eatontown, passed away Monday at the Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Volmer was born in South Bound Brook and had lived in Hightstown before moving to Eatontown thirty years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Dorothea's RC Church, Eatontown, where for many years she co-chaired the Social Concerns Committee. She was a 1952 graduate of Battin High School, Elizabeth. Mrs. Volmer retired as the Housing Authority Coordinator for Franklin Township after 29 years of service. Nancy was pre-deceased by her first husband, John McCaffrey, her son, Daniel McCaffrey and her granddaughter, Tobi McKenzie. Survivng is her husband, Robert Volmer; Nancy's children, Eileen McCaffrey, Somerset, Kitty McCaffrey, Abingdon, MD, John D. McCaffrey, Long Branch, Dennis and Alice McCaffrey, West Palm Beach and James McCaffrey, Eatontown; step-son, Pete and Nancy Schaub, Wall Twp.; her daughter-in-law, Trish McCaffrey, Shark River; her siblings, Sally Goldberg, Port Jervis, NY, Judy and Jack Brennan, Springfield, Fl and Frank Gossler, Beaver Creek, Pa.; her grandchildren, Josh, Anthony, Francesca, Olvia and Denise; her great-grandchildren, Patrick and Sarah and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was a caring loving woman who will be greatly missed by all who loved her and all those who knew her. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 22nd, 4 to 8 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. The funeral mass will be celebrated, Sat. Nov. 23rd, 10 am at St. Dorothea's RC Church, Broad Street, Eatontown. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
