Nora D. Jover, 78, of Old Bridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 16th surrounded by her loving family.
Nora was born in Pampanga, Philippines. She moved to the U.S. in 1979 where she joined her sister and parents and gave birth to her daughter Patricia. Nora continued her academic journey which concluded when she obtained her Masters in Nutrition from New York University. She worked as a dietician for over 30 years and eventually retired from Morristown Medical Center.
She also worked part-time as a realtor for 15 years.
Nora was caring and compassionate, always looking out for others. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, Iceland being one of the most recent destinations. She was fond of Korean dramas, and learning new recipes on You Tube. She enjoyed capturing memories by taking pictures with family, friends, on vacation, with flowers, and especially funny selfies. She took pleasure in going out whether it was to shop, accompany someone, eat, or try something new. Most of all, she loved cooking. Cooking was her love language, and she made everything from the heart for all her family and friends to enjoy. Her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren were of the utmost importance to her, but she also cared deeply and made time and effort for everyone in her family, whether they were near or far.
Nora is predeceased by her parents Abel and Patrocino Deocera and her brother Raul Deocera. She is survived by her loving daughter Patricia Garcia, her husband Alfonso, and her grandchildren Isabella, Joaquin, and Valentina; sisters Zenaida and Myra Deocera; brothers Abel Deocera Jr., Elmo Deocera. She will be sincerely missed by all who were privileged to know her.
Visitation for Nora will be Saturday, July 20th from 2-6pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 22nd at 10:30am at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 81 Throckmorton Ln, Old Bridge. Entombment will immediately follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum, 361 Hwy 79, Morganville.
