Peter 'Jack' Carroll, 86 of Plantation, Fl., formerly of Long Branch, passed away Sunday March 14, 2010 in Florida. Mr. Carroll was raised in Long Branch and was a 1941 graduate of Long Branch High School. Mr. Carroll moved to South Florida in 1964. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He enjoyed dual careers having retired from both United Airlines and the US Postal Service. Surviving is his devoted wife of 63 years Mary Loew Carroll; five children, Christina Alberganini, Gaithersburg, MD, Dr. Mark Carroll, Naples, Fl., Peter Carroll, Plantation Fl., Kevin Carroll , Coconut Creek, Fl. And Susan Carroll-Venegas, Wellington Fl.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many other family and friends who cherished and loved him dearly. A memorial service will be March 20th, 9:30 AM at St. David's Catholic Church, Davie, Florida. Mr. Carroll will be buried on his family plot in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch, June 24th at 11:00 AM. Deacon Eugene Somma will officiate.
