Mr. Richard M. Gilbert, 91, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 24th, 2013 at the Meridian Center, in Shrewsbury, N.J. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Staten Island for many years, and then moved to Concordia in Monroe Township, N.J. Mr. Gilbert also resided on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, and in Fort Pierce, Florida. He served his country in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Malone), his son Ronald and his wife Jacqueline of Morristown, N.J., his daughter Carolyn and her husband Richard Belena of Colts Neck, N,.J., and by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be offered for Mr. Gilbert on Monday, January 28th, 2013 at 9:00AM at St. Marys' Roman Catholic Church , 1 – Phalanx Road ( at Route 34) in Colts Neck, N.J.
