Richard Ribellino, Sr., 78, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully on March 28th, surrounded by his family. Born on January 29, 1947, Richard lived a long life filled with joy, love, and cherished memories that will forever remain with those who knew him. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he created a beautiful life for himself and his family. As his family grew, they moved to Colts Neck, New Jersey, where they made their home.
Brooklyn, New York, became a key part of Richard’s life, where he built a beautifully successful career. He carried on his father’s legacy by running his successful sanitation company, Acwell Private Sanitation. He continued his success with Paperman Supply Company, which allowed him to begin his real estate portfolio. What began as a fun hobby eventually evolved into the main focus of his life. Richard established himself in the real estate world and excelled for years. His family is incredibly proud of what he has accomplished and are so proud of the legacy he has left behind.
Richard was a man of many hobbies and passions, but one of the dearest to his heart was his love for dogs. Though he had three children, in his heart, he had six—Max, Junior, and Bentley, his three beloved pit bulls. Richard adored them deeply, and Bentley remains here today, offering comfort to his family in his absence. We find solace in knowing that Richard will be greeted in heaven by his two beloved dogs.
Another significant part of Richard’s life was his dedication to fitness and staying active. No matter his age, he remained committed to his health, whether it was spending hours playing paddle ball at the park or taking boxing classes at 70 years old. His energy and determination were truly inspiring to those around him.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Samuel Ribellino; his mother-in-law, Theresea Sarincola; his brother, Jerome Ribellino; and his two sons-in-law, Anthony Citro and Spiro Fragoulias. We can only hope and pray that they are waiting for him in heaven with open arms.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Josephine Ribellino; his three children, Renee Fragoulias, Janine Citro, and Richard Ribellino Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Francesca Ribellino; and his eight cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and Serena Fragoulias, Anthony Jr. and Michael Citro, and Brianna, Marisa, Alexa, and Richard III Ribellino.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts. His warm presence, kindness, and unwavering strength touched so many lives, and the world is a little less bright without him. We take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place, free from any hardship, and at peace. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his memory, love, and the lessons he shared will remain with us. Richard was more than an ordinary person; he was a loving husband, an incredible father, and a thoughtful grandfather. His children will remember him as a legend, a superhero, and a remarkable force whose memory will live on forever.
In honor of Richard’s wishes, there will be a private viewing for immediate family only. We invite all friends and extended family to join us for a memorial Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by a repast lunch at The Polo Club at Holmdel.
