Robert S. Meyer, 83 of Middletown, formerly of Oceanport, NJ, passed away December 20th at his home. Mr. Meyer was born November 13, 1929 in Long Branch to Grace and Alfred H. Meyer. He was a graduate of Long Branch High School in 1946 and attended Monmouth College and Rutgers University.
Mr. Meyer was married January 28, 1951 to Helen Wainwright of Long Branch. Shortly after, he was called into service serving in the Korean Conflicet. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany where Helen later joined him.
Upon his return he started his career with Commercial Credit Corp., where he worked for 15 years. He joined United Jersey Bank Mid State for the next 20 years retiring as a Senior Vice-President.
Bob was a member of the Old Guard of Long Branch. He enjoyed playing golf while a member of Old Orchard Country Club, and later with the Lakers at Shadow Lake Village, Middletown.
Mr. Meyer was pre-deceased by his mother and father and Brother, Alfred A. Meyer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sisters-in-law, Louise Meyer, Hazel Butler and Ellen Wainwright; brothers-in-law, Daniel and his wife Betty Wainwright and Joseph Wainwright and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Meyer has bequeathed his body to Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
