Rosalind Hayes, 90 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 3rd.
Daughter of Julius and Frances Metz and sister to Edwin Metz, Janice Levin and Sandy Buchberg; Rosalind was born in New York, NY.
She married Francis “Tiny” Hayes in 1947 and together raised 6 children and a large extended family. Rosalind loved cards, Atlantic City, the Yankees, Frank Sinatra, western movies and most of all her family.
Rosalind was past president and member for over 40 years of the Long Branch Chapter of Deborah Hospital, actively working on fundraisers, along with a passionate group of volunteers, selling clothing and running a weekly Bingo game to benefit the hospital.
Rosalind celebrated her 90th birthday with friends and family in April and gave her heartfelt thanks for a wonderful life filled with family, friends and lots of love and laughs.
She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Tiny and her grandson John Edward Spengler IV.
Surviving are her children, Karen Spengler and her husband John, Eileen Hampton, Robert Hayes and his wife Susan, Kevin Hayes and his wife Debra Bradley, Francis Hayes and his wife Lisa and Brian Hayes and his wife Stephanie; 16 grandchildren Kevin and his wife Lauren, Craig, Ryne and his wife Ashley, Christopher, Harrison, Katlin, Connor, Tyler, Trevor, Alexa, Kyle, Jamie, Evan, Tashawne, Chevesse and Emily and 3 great grandchildren Brandon, Kyla and Charlotte. She is also survived by her oldest and dearest friend of 76 years, Roz Lerner as well as long time friend and neighbor Helen Caronna.
Visitation Sunday, August 6th 1:00 – 4:30 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
