Russell W. Reichert, 76, of Farmingdale, passed away Thursday, April 11th surrounded by his loving family.
Russell was born in Elizabeth, NJ. He graduated from Linden High School, then later Fairleigh Dickinson University, and finally Washburn University School of Law. It was around this time he met his long time life partner of 50 years, Judith Bock. They were happy to move south to Farmingdale and establish a loving home together.
Russell enjoyed long walks, playing tennis and the guitar. He was exceptionally fond of taking trips to Cape Cod and being at the beach. He was an avid lover of nature, and took pleasure in observing humming birds and gardening. His favorite kind of music was easy listening and soft rock, which reflected who he was as a person, He was an expert at everything pertaining to the Revolutionary War and World War II, and would fervently watch wartime documentaries. He adored his cat companions, especially Bob and Muji. He is remembered as an intelligent, loving and gentle soul and will be missed by all who were privileged to know him.
He is survived by his long time beloved partner Judith Bock; her sons Thomas Bock and his wife Denise of Freehold NJ, David Bock and his partner Gina Waldron of Branchburg NJ, and Christopher Bock and his partner Bonnie Walling of Old Bridge NJ; his brothers Walter Reichert and his wife Barbara of Branchburg NJ, Daniel Reichert and his wife Lori of O’Fallon MO. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Lauren, Alexandra, Devin, Deanna and Madison; nephews David and his wife Catherine, Jonathan, and William and his wife Hina; and great niece and nephew Zoe and Bennett.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17th from 4-8pm, at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. Entombment will be the following day Thursday, April 18th at 11am, at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum, 361 Hwy 79, Morganville.
