Scott Robert Marmer, 61, of Absecon, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 25th. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Hazlet, Scott was a graduate of Raritan High School and attended Brookdale College, where he studied in the Business Management. He embarked on a successful sales career in the garment industry in New York City, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Scott had a deep love for the beach, where he spent many joyful days. He was an avid skier, enjoying spending time on the slopes with enthusiasm. A dedicated fan of the NY Rangers, NY Giants, and NY Mets, Scott’s passion for sports was evident to all who knew him. He cherished vacationing in warm tropical climates, always making time for a workout to stay fit. His culinary tastes were diverse, enjoying a hearty corned beef sandwich or indulging in shrimp and lobster. Scott also had a profound love for animals, often fostering and adopting dogs, with his most recent best friend being Leo.
Scott was predeceased by his father, Paul Martin Marmer, in 2023. He is survived by his loving mother, Marilyn Marmer; his children, Stephanie Baker and her husband Joshua, Michael Marmer, and Rachel Marmer and her fiancé Brian Chittum; his siblings, Bonnie Maher and her husband Joe, and Gary Marmer and his wife Laurie; his grandson, Austin Baker; his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Lauren and Bobby, Alyssa and Ryan, Jordyn and Brian, Ryan and Sarah, and Logan. Scott also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, Lennon, Colton, Brody, Jaxon, and Donovan.
Private Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Rt. 79, Marlboro. Scott’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the moments shared with him.
