Sophia Alexis Caneiro, 8 of Colts Neck died at her home in Colts Neck on Tuesday, November 20th.
Sophia was a 3rd grade student at Conover Road School, Colts Neck. She was member of the Colts Neck Girl Scouts, she participated in the Colts Neck Recreation program. She loved taking Ninja classes.
Sophia enjoyed baking with her mom and her nanny Claudia. She loved ice skating, gymnastics and the New York Yankees. Sophia was a vibrant, enthusiastic and precocious girl, who enjoyed the arts. Her positive energy was contagious.
Sophia died along with her parents, Jennifer, Keith and her brother Jesse.
Surviving is her maternal grandparents, Bette and Vlassis Karidis; paternal grandparents, Sherry and Cesar Caneiro; her aunts and uncles, Bonnie Karidis, Elisa and Corey Caneiro and Susan and Paul Caneiro; his four cousins, Katie, Marissa, Cesar and Carina.
Memorial gathering will be Sunday, December 2nd, 12 noon until the funeral service at 3 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in the Caneiro family’s honor by donating to Reach Out & Read, www.reachoutandread.org or METAvivor, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness, Research & Support, www.metavivor.org.
