Veronica Ronan, 48, passed away on Sunday, September 13th, after a long and courageous battle. Born in Jersey City, N.J., Veronica lived in Holmdel. She was a parishioner of Holy Family R.C.Church in Union Beach. Veronica was an Attorney, and was also the foundress of the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation , a non profit organization created for the sole purpose of raising money to fund medical research that results in more effective treatments for and ultimately a cure for brain tumors. Veronica was predeceased by her father, John Ronan. She is survived by her husband Tom Woodmaska, her mother Kathleen Waters Ronan, Eileen and Kenneth McGurk, Neil and Linda Ronan, John and Deborah Ronan, Kathleen and Girard Kelly, and John, Thomas, Christina, Jane, William, and Lauren her loving nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, there will not be a visitation at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday 11:00AM at the Holy Family R.C. Church, 727 Route 36 Highway 36 in Union Beach, NJ. Interment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery in Holmdel. The family requests that no flowers be sent to them, to the Funeral Home, or to the Church – they will not be accepted. In place of any flowers whatsoever, donations can be made to the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation, P.O.Box 819, Holmdel, N.J. 07733

Tom-I am so sorry, yet these are years past. I hope you have found comfort in the memories and in the good an organization like B.R.A.I.N can provide.

You both brighten our memories as fine people we are luck to have shared some times with. Mourning ends, but sad, yet good, memories persist for our life here, and should be honored.

I bless the day I met Veronica and cherish every moment I was fortunate enough to spend in her company. She was more than a boss and personal friend to me - she was a mentor. I learned so many things about life from VR. She has impacted my existence thoroughly. To her family that she loved so dearly (she shared with me wonderful stories of growing up in Jersey City), and her devoted and magnificent husband Tom whom she loved and who took such wonderful care of her, I express my deepest condolensces and heart felt wishes. My son, Tyler, spent 4 years with John at the USMMA. When they would travel to NJ for their special weekends off campus, they spent many nights with Aunt Roni. Every year she would make Tyler cupcakes for his birthday. This always made me feel so blessed to know that she was making his birthdays so special since I was here in Georgia. She will always hold a special place in Tyler's heart.

I met Veronica on a train ride back from Washington DC a few years ago. My friend Joe Alessi and I were heading home and Veronica joined us on the train. I, as many others, immediately fell in love with Veronica. Her wonderful personality and warm smile have stayed with me since that day. I was very happy when Veronica and Tom asked me to cater many fund raising events at The Villa at Mountain Lakes. More importantly, I have been honored to know her for these many years. She is someone that I will never forget and I hope that the BRAIN foundation lives on to help others in her beautiful memory.

Tom and family, I just wanted to let you know that Ronnie will be greatly missed. I remember that wonderful person from high school and was hoping to reconnect with her at the upcoming reunion. Please accept my condolences and believe that she is in a better place now. Be strong and keep the faith.

May you now have peace Ronnie! We were in elementary school together and lived with one house "Barber Bills" between us. In eighth grade Ronnie beat me by one vote for the best eyes!
