Wayne F. Wildrick, 77, of Middletown, died on Friday, February 6.
Wayne was born and raised in Newton, NJ to the late Catherine and Fredrick Wildrick. After graduating from Newton High School, Wayne served his country honorably in the US Navy. After his service, he and his wife moved to Norfolk, VA, and then Staten Island, where they raised their family. In 1986, they moved to Middletown, where they have resided since. Wayne worked for the NY Board of Education, where he retired from.
He was very handy, helping many people finalize their vision in projects. He enjoyed traveling, being adventurous, playing golf with his buddy John, fishing with his 2 best buddies, Mike and Koop, aka the 3 Amigos. He was passionate about spending time outdoors, whether it was the Boy Scouts where he was a Scoutmaster for many years, or Up North on the Lake in Michigan. Most of all, Wayne loved his family, and spending asmuch time with them as he could making memories. The greatest memories were made with his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, and eight siblings.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Madeline Wildrick, their three children, Wayne II and his wife Eileen Wildrick of Staten Island, Brian Wildrick of Columbia, SC, and Lauren and her wife Melissa Wildrick of Swartz Creek, MI, one sister, and nine grandchildren Wayne III, Emma, Carolynn, Samantha, Gianna, Nathan, Mattingly, Zachary, and Michael.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 9 from 4pm – 8pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, February 10 at 9:30am at the Church of Saint Catharine Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, North Middletown.
