Ms. Apostolacus was an outstanding guidance counselor. Brings back fond memories of my time at Long Branch High School from 1957-1960. As a long time math teacher, I greatly appreciate the wonderful work done by Ms. Apostolacus. A few years ago I had the privilege of briefly having a conversation with her at a ceremony where students were receiving awards and financial scholarships. My condolences to her family and friends.

Extremely saddened to read yesterday of Teddy's passing. Had I known sooner I would have attended her viewing due to my utmost respect for her. I have many fond memories of Teddy during our time as colleagues at LBHS. She was a dear friend who was inspirational, kind, humorous, and genuine. One of , if not the, most amazing persons I encountered while employed at LB. My deepest condolences to family and friends. May she rest in a well deserved peace.

Teddy was the best people you could ever be blessed to know. My first meeting is when she taught me geography and HR teachers on Morris ave, 8 th gr. Then she was my qui dance teacher and then after years I worked in LBHS and in her qui dance dept.. Also was a member of the Women's Club of Long Branch with her. So she sure was an important part of my life. Bless her for all she taught me in school and personally. Loved her very much. God Bless you Teddy.

I REMEMBER THIS DEDICATED EDUCATOR- I BELIEVE SHE TAUGHT A COMBINED 5TH /6TH GRADE CLASS IN NORTH LONG BRANCH GRAMMAR SCHOOL AROUND 1946- IF MEMORY SERVES CORRECTLY, SHE RODE HER BIKE TO SCHOOL PAST MY HOUSE ) I ALSO HAD HER AS A TEACHER IN LBHS WHERE SHE ADMINISTERED SCREENING TESTS IN THE GEOGRAPHY CLASS. (KUDER PREFERENCE TESTS I BELIEVE.) EARLIER SHE BECAME PRINCIPAL OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LONG BRANCH. IN ANY EVENT- EVEN IF MY MEMORY IS FAULTY- SHE WAS A DEDICATED TEACHER. REST IN PEACE PS- I BECAME A TEACHER AND I'M SURE HER INFLUENCE WAS THERE)

I am so very sorry about the loss of my favorite guidance counselor, and devastated that I did not know she had passed until today (11/26). Had I known I would have been at her funeral today. I sent several messages to relatives to please let me know when Ms. A. passed so I could participate in her services. I never heard back from anyone. I visited her when she was at the Monmouth Care Center in Long Branch, and when I returned to see her, she was gone. I never did find out where she was moved, although I tried. To the family: I am a graduate of the class of 1971 at LBHS. Ms. A. was more than my guidance counselor; she was an angel in my life, responsible for facilitating my admission to Simmons College in Boston, Mass. Had it not been for Ms. A. the trajectory of my life would've been very different. Years later, when I authored a book, I wrote a chapter on her role in my life and career success. That was in 2007, and at that point she was well and still living on Slocum Place. She contacted me when the Press wrote an article on my book. I visited her on Slocum Place and gave her a copy of my book - How Ya Like Me Now. She was so happy to know that I thought so highly of her to include her in my book. Ms. A. then nominated me for the LBHS Academic Hall of Fame, and attended the induction ceremony. She sat with me and my family. She also came to a few of my book signings around Long Branch. Later she became ill and was admitted to the nursing home. Following my first visit with her at the nursing home, I lost track of her. Again, I tried in vain to find out where she was so I could continue to visit. I am deeply saddened that I did not know of her passing or funeral until a few moments ago when my brother called upon reading it in the paper. I am so very sad. But I will never, ever forget her. Ms. A. was one of a kind. They don't make guidance counselors like her anymore. My condolences to the family. Leslie Morris Class of 1971 LBHS
