Dear David and Kathy, I just now heard the news about Brian and am so very sorry I wasn't there to give you both a hug in person. I remember meeting Brian as a child and will always remember the beautiful smile he had. I can only imagine the pain you must be feeling right now. My only regret is that your Brian and my John never got to meet up again in their later years. I am sure they would have been good friends. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for you to have comfort in knowing how many lives were touched by your courageous and accomplished son. He was so very lucky to have you both as his parents, as I am sure you both feel about having him as your son. Love and Deepest Sympathy to you both and your family, Madeline

I'm sure many other meal aides and students would agree! Brian will definitely be missed by all of us! Another of the bunch taken too soon:( but his memories will always live on!

My Son, Derek, was friends with Brian for many years part of a strong circle of friends with Brian. Brian brought out the best in Derek and his friends. My sincere condolences to your family. Please know that Brian's spirit, kindness, humanity, and big heart will live on forever in his forever grateful and loving friends.

I am inspired by Brian for the way he lived. His philosophy of "peace, love, and harmony" is powerful and humane. So if ever I find myself without enough peace, love, or harmony, I'll think of Brian and he will surely lift my spirits. Go in peace Brian King. My thoughts with the King Family, Brian Byus.

I worked as a meal-aide at Edinboro University. Brian was such a joy to work with. I would always want to work with Brian because we always would talk about sports since we shared similar interests. Brian was the most well respected, sweetest, kind and hard working people I have had the pleasure of knowing. May he truly rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends!

I also worked as a meal aide at Edinboro University, which is where I met my first gingers. Though the food wasn't the greatest, that job was the best!! I got to hangout with some amazing people who became my closest friends. I truly miss those times. I hope we can have lunch again, Brian, when my time here is up. Hopefully it's a chicken patty day.

To my fellow red-headed, ginger, friend BK (Brian King). You are such an amazing guy. We had some great times in Edinboro. You were put in this world to do something amazing, and you did that in your writing. Thanks for being a great frield, and a great dance partner at Alex's wedding. You will be missed by so many and will always be in our hearts. I hope you are watching some great movies up there in heaven with a big jug of popcorn <3 Rachel Shandler
