Thomas E. McCue Born July 10, 1923 died at home late Tuesday night surrounded by his loving family. Thomas E. McCue was born in Long Branch, NJ where he lived most of his life. He moved to Marlboro, NJ in1956 and lived there for 29 years. During that time he was a communicant of Saint Gabriel’s Parish in Marlboro. He later returned to Long Branch in 1983 and was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Long Branch where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of Red Bank Catholic High School Alumni and in recent years a member of the Long Branch Old Guard. Tom was a WW2 veteran serving four years in the US Navy aboard the Troop Transport USS Mount Vernon AP22 and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Upon returning from his Navy service he was involved with the operation of the family owned business McCue’s Dairy, Long Branch. He later was employed by the NJ State Department of Corrections in Marlboro, NJ for thirty years. After retirement he was employed by Seashore Day Camp for 12 years. Tom enjoyed surf fishing, golf with his wife and friends and his love of animals. Their summers were spent on the beaches of Long Branch with their children and later with their grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his daughter Rita Louise McCue in 1981, his son Lawrence T. McCue in 2007 and his great granddaughter Victoria Paige DeVivo in 1998, his parents Thomas E. and Grace Manion McCue; three brothers Joseph G., Vincent and Martin McCue and three sisters Caroline McCue McGuire, Grace McCue Leonard and Mary McCue Davis. Survived by his wife Mary Louise Hussey McCue of 66 years, a son Timothy M. and his wife Donna McCue of Tinton Falls, daughter in law Linda Mazzeo of Bricktown, grandchildren Erin McCue DeVivo and her husband Al, Ryan McCue of Long Branch, Tara McCue Buono and her husband Jason of Eatontown and Kerry McCue of Tinton Falls, Jennifer McCue O’Connell and her husband Jordan of Howell and 8 great-grand children, Kayla McCue, Gianna and Meghan DeVivo, Hunter McCue and Matthew Stano, Thomas and Logan O’Connell and Sidney Buono; four sisters Eleanor McCue Hayes, Teresa McCue of Long Branch, Sara (Sally) McCue Wichmann of Little Silver, Elizabeth McCue Paschetto of Paramus, and several nieces and nephews and very dear friend Louis (Bud) Wenning who has been his close friend since first grade. Visitation Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral mass Saturday, at a time to be announced, Star of the Sea RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
