Rick: I was sorry to read of the passing of your father. He sure was an Adventurer by land (motorcycles), sea (ice boating, sailing) and by air (flying). And your Mom was the perfect companion and willing sport to join him. I wish your family smiles and memories of a man who lived life thoroughly. May you all follow in his trail.

Such a beautiful memorial. I will always cherish the great memories I have of my Uncle Dick, especially growing up! My brothers and I always thought of him as our Uncle Dick; G.I. Joe... Big tall man with the big hands! Moving away to FL I did not see him as much as when I was growing up and when I did see him he always made it a point to take an interest in my life and chat with me! Rest in Peace..... Love you always

Growing up across the country I didn’t have the opportunity to know uncle Dick but the times I visited I was so welcomed. Having lost my father (Dicks brother Ed ) at 13 I always appreciated the east coast relatives. Rest In Peace Uncle Dick. Love Jill and family.

I cannot think of a better way to describe Dick then to say a really great person. Large in stature and in personality. Hardworking, loyal, easy to be with and well-liked by all who worked with him. We worked together for over 30 years and he was one of our family. An incredible amount of talent. It appears as if there was no job, large or small that he could not handle and never a mean word uttered. We will miss him as will all of his friends and Club Associates. We all lost a “Really Great Guy”. Our Love to Dolly and the children, Donna and Richard.
Natalie and Augie Zilincar left a message on August 15, 2022:
Dick was a wonderful man and the best neighbor we could ever ask for! He and Dolly were always so kind and loving to our two children and we have many fond memories of visiting them in their back sunroom while Little Augie played with their cat Albert. Dick had a sharp mind, a one-of-a-kind spirit and we felt like he could fix anything! We enjoyed going to a few events with Dick and his family at his boat club. It was such a pleasure to know an extraordinary person like Dick. It wasn't too long ago we'd watch him take off on his motorcyle on beautiful days...and he always went on his long walks with a golf club! We will never forget him. The Zilincar family sends our love to Dolly and the entire Hauter family. Our deepest condolences.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I was saddened to learn of Dick’s passing. As a kid I grew up with the Hauters. Dick was a close friend & a really good person & very smart. I remember him working at Dennis’ Ice Cream Parlor. They made their Ice Cream at the Shop & Dick maintained the Equipment. I accidentally chipped his Front Tooth playing Hockey at Franklin Park Lake. He was a Really good Skater. Please accept my Sincere Condolences. Dick Heckman
