Agnes Kathleen Tynan-Slavin, 87, of Holmdel, New Jersey, was welcomed into the Kingdom of
Heaven on April 21st, 2024. Born in the Bronx, NY, and then moving to Elizabeth, NJ, at the early age of two, Kathleen was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Elizabeth, NJ, and the Berkeley School in East Orange, NJ.
Kathleen enjoyed a flourishing career as a model in New York and specialized in both commercial photography and television commercials. Her natural beauty offered her opportunities to appear on various television shows and in publications such as Glamor, Mademoiselle and Seventeen magazines.
In 1982, Kathleen joined Brunswick Surgical Supply Corporation and flourished as a leading sales representative in the medical sales field until her retirement in 2005. In her retirement, Kathleen resided at the Village Grande in Holmdel, NJ and served on their Board of Trustees. Being a member of the Village Grande Garden Club and playing tennis with her friends were a few her favorite activities.
A parishioner of Mary Mother of God church, Kathleen also volunteered in fund raising for the Monmouth County Women’s Center. She enjoyed the theater and the arts but her greatest pleasure was in spending time with her three children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She considered her greatest gift to society was that she raised her children to be kind, loving, compassionate and moral.
Predeceased by her parents Agnes and Raymond Tynan, her sisters, and best friends, Dorthy Tynan Leonard, and Marilyn Tynan Wood, Kathleen leaves behind her children Karen Barber (Richard), Kevin (Debbie) Slavin and Greg (Heather) Slavin, grandchildren Chris Barber, Sean Barber, Kaitlin Farmer, Kevin Ryan Slavin, Meghan Slavin Mosberg, Devon and Brandon Slavin, and Great Grandchildren Brody, Brooke, Brynn and Rosie Barber, Hudson Farmer and Avery Mosberg.
