Agnes Rose Elia, 87, of Staten Island passed away early Friday morning surrounded by her loving family.
Agnes was born and raised in Brooklyn, and met the love of her life, Joseph, and was married in 1952. They both happily settled down in Brooklyn to start their family, and eventually moved to Staten Island. Agnes worked for many years in New York City at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., and even achieved the prestigious role of Bank Manager. Not only was Agnes a strong, hardworking woman, she was also so caring; she never missed a moment to tell her family how much she loved them. For every family member, Agnes would knit their first baby blankets, sew any of their ripped clothes, and even make their Halloween costumes. Additionally, Agnes loved trips to Atlantic City with her husband, Joseph, to play blackjack, and was very skilled. She loved the New York Yankees and attended many of their games. Agnes always had a smile on her face, and loved to make people laugh.
