Alice G. Morrison, 93, of Hazlet passed away on Monday afternoon, April 14th, 2014. Born in Newark, she lived in Hazlet for many years. Alice was a graduate of Seton Hall University. She was a Registered Nurse, and later became a school nurse. She then became a Teacher and taught in the Middletown N.J. school system. She was a member of the NJEA and the NEA. She was very fond of the American Indian Schools, and was a big supporter of them. She was a parishioner of Holy Family R.C. Church in Union Beach, and was also a member of the Rosary Society at Holy Family. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, by her parents and by her sister Helen Gilligan. She is survived by many close friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, April 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:30AM Wednesday, April 16th at Holy Family R.C. Church, Highway 36 North, Union Beach. Interment will then follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J.

Dearest Alice;it was hard for me to write this at first.I'm just beginning to accept that You have really left us. We had/have a special bond, a bond which cannot be explained in mere words.I have a void in my being without You, as You expressed many times to me, whenever I could not be with You.You held your dignity well.You are a person who has exemplified the meaning of grace, poise and intellect.You may have physically left us, yet,you will be with me always. I will try to live by the example you've shown me. You were a fine Educator, a supreme Nurse, and Loving Friend to those deserving.
