Ann L. Keenan, formerly of Holmdel, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday at the age of 89. She was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in the Bronx. Ann graduated from Hunter College and later earned a master’s degree from Fordham University. She married the love of her life, Robert, on September 12, 1959, after meeting him on the beach in Avon.
After dedicating many years to raising her five children, Ann returned to her professional career and ultimately became Vice President of Human Resources at EPS Corporation in Tinton Falls. She had a lifelong passion for the beach, theatre, and music. Ann started playing the church organ at the age of 13 and served as the organist at St. Catharine’s Church of Holmdel for over 35 years.
Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Keenan, and her brother, Eugene Wallenberger. She leaves behind her children: Jeanne Mauritzen, Robert Keenan, Mary Lonergan and her husband Jim, Elizabeth Keenan, and Paul Keenan and his wife Lucia. She was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 22nd, at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
