Antonio S. Longobardo, 79, of Middletown, died on Monday, July 20.
Antonio was born and raised in Roccarainola, Italy to the late Angelina and Francesco Longobardo. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Newark, NJ, and during the 70’s, became a designer for men’s suits. He and his wife married in 1972 and began their family shortly thereafter, and raised their four children in Newark. He retired from NJ Transit after a 34 year career with them. In 1998, they moved to Middletown where they have resided since.
Antonio loved fishing, gardening, fixing things around the house and crafting his own fishing poles and plugs. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach, and watching hockey. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Antonio is predeceased by his parents and his wife Rosalie Longobardo.
He is survived by his four children Frank and his wife Lisa Longobardo of Belford, Sal and his wife Jennifer of Trinity, FL, Nella Longobardo of Middletown, and Angelina and her husband Thom Minger of Devon, PA, his siblings Raffaela D’Angelo, Emelia Esposito, Sal Longobardo and eight grandchildren Joseph, Brooke, Donatella, Antonio, Tommy, Annabella, Rosalie, and Sophia.
A committal service will be held on Thursday, August 6 at 11:00am at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Red Bank, followed by a repass.
