Arlyne LeSchack, 80, of Jackson Heights and Sea Bright, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst.

Arlyne was a devoted educator who spent 25 years teaching elementary school for the New York City Board of Education. She was especially passionate about helping children develop strong reading skills and a lifelong love of learning. When her children were in school, she was actively involved in the PTA and remained deeply committed to education throughout her life.

An avid reader, Arlyne served as president of both her book club and library club. She enjoyed going to the movies and the theater, especially community theater in Monmouth County, where she and her husband subscribed to performances in Long Branch and Red Bank. She also served for many years as president of her condominium association in Sea Bright. Most recently, Arlyne was attending classes in Manhattan designed for retired professionals. She was a longtime member of Rumson Jewish Center.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Peter LeSchack; her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Rhonda LeSchack of Long Island, and Michael and Lauren Boykin LeSchack of Long Island; her sister, Joy Schulman; and her two beloved grandchildren, Lily and Aaron.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery.
