Charles Katz, of Long Branch, NJ passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 101. Born on January 24, 1922, in Long Branch, NJ, Charles was the son of Morris and Hava Katz.
After completing his education, Charles served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II in Northern Africa and Italy.
Charles became the proud owner and operator of Katz’s Kosher Market in Long Branch. He was a skilled butcher and a Member of Local 464A. He served his community with dedication and passion for many years.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Henriette Katz; his son Allan Katz and daughter-in-law Star; his daughter Myra Katz and son-in-law Michael Dickson; his grandchildren, Sebastian and Lara Katz, Zachary Katz and Alexandria Brummell, Christopher Jason Dickson and April Joy Damian- Dickson, and Joseph Dickson; his great-grandchildren, Elliotte, Benjamin, Carter and Josephine Katz.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Charles’ life took place at Brothers of Israel Cemetery in West Long Branch, NJ, on December 31, 2023
