Christine Locatelli, April 23, 1949 – November 28, 2011 of Lawrenceville, NJ and Port Orange, FL, and formerly of Hazlet, NJ and Manhattan, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Margaret Locatelli, Chris is survived by her husband Robert J. Hornak, 2 step-children, Rob Hornak, of Brooklyn, NY, and Dr. Beth Anne Flack, of Augusta, GA, 2 step-granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Grace, and Lilly Isabella Anne, sisters Georgette Sinanian, and Jeanmarie Locatelli Kraft, brother-in-law Richard Sinanian, nieces Melissa Kraft, and Lauren Sanseverino, nephews Gregory Sinanian, and Matt Kraft. Chris attended public school in Brooklyn and then graduated CCNY York College with a degree in English 1n 1971. After becoming employed with Abraham and Strauss in downtown Brooklyn on Fulton Street, Chris moved to Manhattan. Chris left A&S around September 1981 and became the Corporate Director of Human Resources for Brentano's, the bookstore on 45th Street. After Executive Positions at Wang Laboratories, and Barnes and Nobel, Enesco Labs, Chris retired in 2001 as Corporate Director of Employee Relations for Quest Diagnostics. Chris and Bob traveled extensively over the last 15 years. Visitation will held Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 10:30AM at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. Entombment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Chris' name to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Office of Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

I was fortunate to be one of the clincians who was honored and privileged enough to be member of Christine's oncology team at Fox Chase Cancer Center. I so enjoyed the time I spent with Bob and Christine, as they were clearly such a wonderful and caring couple. The devotion they had for and showed to one another was truly remarkable and served for all of us as a testament to the love and life they shared. I will always remember Christine as a woman who was filled with life, grace and poise - even in the moments when she was most greatly challenged by her disease. Bob - as I told you before, your tears of sadness will be many but because of the way you steadfastly stood by Christine and guided her through her final weeks, you will never have to cry a tear of regret. Christine and I were babies together, grew up right across the street from each other, shared our secrets together, boy talk, family talk, etc. We were so excited when our parents allowed us at 13 to take a bus trip together to 13th Avenue! How grown up we felt! We called each other sister friends. From the start of Chrstine's illness journey, she told me she wanted to have grace and dignity in dealing with what was ahead. She most certainly did. We spoke like clockwork, every single week, about everything and anything. We laughed, we cried, we confided; everything that sister friends do.
