Darleen D. DeRosa, 77 of Hazlet, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 16. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
She was born in 1943 to the late Mary and Benjamin DiMonaco in Bayonne, NJ. Darleen graduated from Bayonne High School in 1961.
Darleen is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Angelo and her sister Eugenia Fishbein. Also surviving are her children Eugenia Rene DeRosa of Hazlet, Darren DeRosa and his wife Kaveeta, of Rumson, and three grandchildren Sarina, Sonia and Sameer.
As an avid reader, you could find her in the Holmdel library every week. Darleen and Angelo lived in Holmdel for over 39 years. Darleen loved to travel and has been to numerous countries spanning 6 continents. She enjoyed discussing politics, and cooking for her family and friends. Her main hobbies were playing Bridge and tennis. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Church of St. Catharine’s in Holmdel. She volunteered for different charities and was a founding member of Sterling Seal and Supply, Inc, Neptune NJ.
A Memorial gathering will be held Monday, December 20th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, December 21st at 9:15am at the Church of St. Catharine, Holmdel. Entombment to follow in Holmdel Mausoleum. Repast will immediately follow at The Molly Pitcher, 88 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank.
