Dominick G. Termini, 71, of Hazlet, passed away on Sunday, February 9 at his home.
Mr. Termini was born in Brooklyn to his parents, Philip and Josephine Termini (nee Orlando). He graduated from Bishop Lauchlin High School in 1971.
One of Dominick’s passions in life was baseball and was a starting pitcher for Long Island University’s Blackbirds, then on various clubs thereafter. While playing baseball he also studied business administration at LIU’s Brooklyn campus. He had a career as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service, Matawan Branch for 30 years. In 1982, Dominick and his beloved wife of 47 years, Christine, moved to Hazlet from Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. They were parishioners at St. Benedict’s Church in Holmdel for 42 years and Dominick volunteered at the food pantry in his retirement.
Dominick loved sports and was an avid NY Mets, Islanders and Jets fan. Exercise was vital in his life and he became a devoted runner. Known for putting other’s needs before his, Dominick donated blood and platelets at the Central Jersey Blood Bank and set numerous milestones with his donations. Most will remember Dominick from his smile at the Post Office or his daily jogs throughout the neighborhood.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Termini (nee Opulente), his Children, Dominick Termini and his wife Alexandra, Rosalie Bonaventura and her husband Vincent; his siblings, Fred Termini, Anthony Termini, Andrew Termini, Vita Sanfilippo, and Philip Termini; and his grandchildren, Serafina, Adriana, Marcella, and Gianna.
Visitation will be held from 2pm – 5pm on Friday, February 14th at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 15th at 10am at the Church of St. Benedict, Holmdel.
