Don R. McCall, 69 of Long Branch, passed away on Sunday, February 2nd at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. McCall was born in Los Angeles, Ca. and lived in Bakersfield, Ca. before moving to Long Branch two years ago. Don received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham and Young University and his Masters in Education from Cal State Bakersfield. Don served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Germany in 1963. Don retired from his first career as Railroad Engineer's Instructor working for the Union Pacific Railroad. After his railroad retirement, he became and Elementary School Teacher in Bakersfield, Ca, until retiring in 2006. After retiring from the school, Don became a full time Genealogist helping many families research their family history. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Eatontown. He was predeceased by his father, Donald McCall and his sister, Sharon McCall. Surviving is his wife Diane Van Winkle; their son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Christina McCall, Bakersfield, Cal and their daughter Heather and her husband Jose Orellana, Long Branch; his mother, Alice McCall, Camarillo, Ca; his brother and sisters, Gary McCall, Linda and her husband Carey Sellers and Collen McCall; his five grandchildren, Paul, Benjamin, Kate, Sophia and Payton. Visitation Sat. February 8th,, 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am, Church of the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 14 Reynolds Drive, Eatontown. Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.
