Donald George Tisch, 88 of Middletown died at Jersey Shore Medical Center on Sunday, Sept. 4th.
Don was born in Irvington and raised in Hillside. Donald served in the US Army Reserve at Ft. Carson, Colorado receiving his honorable discharge in 1960. He began his career working in the Printing and Die Cutting business. Having trained in the military police, he soon followed his passion and was sworn in as a Police Officer for the Borough of Kenilworth in 1963 and rose to the rank of Chief of Police in 1995. He retired in 2000 after 37 years of service.
Donald enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, reading, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the Ft Piece, FL inlet.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Martha Tisch in 2015.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Donald J. and Karen Tisch; his granddaughter and her husband, Danielle and Lee Boland and their 5 children; his grandson Jameson Tisch.
Visitation Thursday, Sept. 7th 4 to 7 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
