Erin Flannigan Nieves, lovingly known as Doodle Bug, passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 32. She was born on August 13, 1991, in Long Branch, NJ, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Erin had a zest for life and was known for her infectious laughter and ability to make those around her smile. Her favorite pastimes included spending quality time with her beloved children, Cristino and Carmelo, and cherished every moment she had with them. Erin also had a passion for cooking and often delighted her loved ones with her culinary creations. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed watching her favorite team play football.
In her younger years, Erin enjoyed playing various sports, including soccer, softball, field hockey, and basketball. She graduated from Shore Regional High School and Monmouth County Vocational Culinary Education Center in 2009, where she honed her skills and developed her love for the culinary arts.
Erin was happily married to Cristino Nieves, who survives her. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared many cherished memories. In addition to her husband, Erin leaves behind her two
adored sons, Cristino and Carmelo, who were the center of her world. As well as two step sons Andre and Isaiah.
She is also survived by her loving parents, Jane and Thomas Flannigan, and her siblings Lauren (Gianni), Mackenzie (Ruben), Kathleen (Demi), Kellie (Marquise), and Thomas (Christina). Erin was a beloved aunt to her two nieces, Francesca Scalise and Jade Taylor, as well as her two nephews, Jaxson and Gabriel Lockhart. Her mother-in-law, Estee Lester, father-in-law, Cristino Nieves, sister in law Nikki Nieves and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Erin Flannigan Nieves will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to her family, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Visitation Wednesday, June 26th 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, June 27th 10:30 am at St. Michael’s RC Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations to her children’s’ savings would be appreciated.
