Evelyn Maniscalco (nee Dudash) passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29th. She was 84 years old. She resided at Applewood Estates in Freehold, NJ the last three years. Prior to that she lived in Wilmington, DE for a number of years.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Stephens, her son-in-law Thomas Stephens, her grandson Keegan and her granddaughter Callie, all of Wilmington, DE; her sister Elaine Carroll and her husband Stephen Carroll, both of Toms River, NJ and Cherry Tannis, her caregiver.
Evelyn was born in Perth Amboy, NJ. Evelyn was a cheerleader at Perth Amboy High School. She then graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Newark State Teachers College (now Kean University).
She taught elementary school in Edison, NJ for a number of years, stopping when she and her husband had their daughter Mary. They then moved to Freehold, NJ. After Mary started school, Evelyn went back to teaching in Freehold Borough until she retired. She is predeceased by her husband Roger.
Evelyn lived a full and interesting life. After she and Roger retired, they travelled the world – Australia and New Zealand, Norway, Hawaii, the Galapagos, Alaska, Italy and many more locales. She was a conscientious and talented teacher of young children. She will be missed by all her extended family and fellow educators.

Visitation Monday, April 1st, 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:30 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Entombment will follow in Holmdel Mausoleum.
