Fleurita C. Carducci, 80 of Monmouth Beach formerly of Holmdel died at her home on Sunday.
She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Holmdel while wintering in Boca Raton, eventually settling in Monmouth Beach.
Fleurita loved to cook and her meatball sandwiches were a favorite of her children’s friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, winter in Boca with her sister, Grace, crossword puzzles and the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. Fleurita loved Christmas, as well as all the holidays, and preparing traditional holiday meals for her family. She was blessed with the ability to maintain lifelong friendships, that she valued deeply.
She attended the Academy of St. Aloysius grammar school and high school. She went on to begin her family all the while attending college classes. Eventually she earned her degree from Rutgers University. Fleurita worked for many years as a Social Worker at Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Surviving are her children, Christine Carducci, Monmouth Beach, William and Lisa Carducci, Mt. Pleasant, SC, Robert and Carmela Carducci, Holmdel, Michael Carducci, Long Branch, Lara Carducci, Monmouth Beach and Jennifer Carducci and her fiancé Thomas Collins; her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and John Squeo, Boca Raton; her grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Tessa, Carlo, Nicholas, Catherine, Angela and Gastao, Mary, Madison and Robert III; great grandson Jayden.
Visitation Tuesday 4 to 8 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Funeral service Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum.
