Florence Teresa Stanuch Dzema, 91, of Holmdel passed away comfortably Tuesday morning surrounded by her family.  

Florence was born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ and is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Perth Amboy. She would marry the love of her life, Stephen, in 1954 and the two would settle in Perth Amboy to raise her young family. Florence would eventually spend most of her career as the CFO for the Housing Authority of Perth Amboy.  

Florence will be remembered through many traits that she has passed on to her loved ones.   

As the rock of the Dzema family, she led by example exhibiting grace, kindness, and grit.  

One of the more important ones, her contagious need to dance which she gracefully passed on through the Dzema family tree.  

Another was her timeless sense of fashion. Her ability to balance a designer handbag with a Nathan’s hot-dog in same hand was nothing short of astonishing.  

 She could often be found traveling to all of her grandchildren’s concerts and sporting events showing her overflowing support no matter the distance.   

Her incredible being has left an immense impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing her; making it difficult to say good-bye. We are happy to report that she never lost her sense of humor or infectious smile.   

Florence is predeceased by her parents Michael and Helen Stanuch; her husband Stephen Dzema; and her sister Mary Kaminsky.

Florence is survived by her children Cynthia Dzema of Holmdel and Douglas and his wife Lynn of Manalapan; her grandchildren Stephen and his wife Alex, Michael; and Douglas Jr. and his wife Madison; and her beloved great grandchild Maverick.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, April 14th at 9:15 AM at St. Catherine’s Church, 108 Middletown Rd, Holmdel.
