Frances A. Manning, 80 of Holmdel passed away peacefully Sunday February 5th at home.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Frances attended Holy Rosary grammar school in Jersey City and Holy Rosary Academy in Union City. She worked at Western Electric where she met the love of her life, Bob Manning. They were married in 1966 and moved around the country before settling in Middletown, NJ where they raised their three daughters. In 2002, they retired to Holmdel.
Fran devoted her life to God and her family. She was a faithful Catholic and attended daily mass. Fran had a deep devotion to Mary and prayed the rosary each day with a list of intentions. Nothing was more special than her 56-year marriage to her husband Bob and the family they created together. Bob and Fran were inseparable. They traveled all over the world and had many wonderful days at Avon Beach. Nothing brought her more joy than preparing meals for her family. She was the best wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother that anyone could ever ask for. She made it a priority to attend her grandkids’ events. She had a special relationship with each of them and they will never forget all of the wonderful memories they made with Grammy, especially the Disney cruises.
Fran was predeceased by her parents, Dominic & Frances Martorano and son-in-law Christian McCarty. Surviving is her loving husband, Bob; daughters; Susan & Joe Hammer, Tricia & Steven Stefanelli and Kara McCarty; her brother James Martorano; her sister Marie Rocco and special niece Jamie; and her grandchildren Matthew, Robert, Joseph, Ryan, Alex, Grace, Julia, Joshua and Caroline; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation Thursday, February 9th 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian burial Friday, February 10th 10:30 am at Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Entombment to follow at St. Gabriel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
