Frances Joanne Marino, 79, of Waretown, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday with her beloved husband holding her hand and family by her side.

Frances was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. She attended Our Lady Queen of Peace elementary school, St. Peters Girls High School followed by Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Manhattan. Fran held many administrative part-time jobs including a secretarial position for over 10 years with the NYC Board of Education. Frances was a devout catholic who received all of her sacraments from Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, including marriage.

Frances would meet the love of her life, Salvatore Marino, as they were riding a bus on their way to St. Peter’s Girls/Boys High School.  The two would marry in 1963 and remained in Staten Island to raise their family. They traveled the world, including touring in London, Japan, skiing in Zurich and numerous trips throughout Italy to visit her family in Sicily. They also enjoyed their other home in Wild Acres-Poconos, skiing and snowmobiling throughout the winter and enjoying tennis, golf, volleyball, and rafting on the Delaware River with friends and family for 40 years. Frances and Sal retired to Waretown over 16 years ago where they also enjoyed golf, bocci, bowling and Fran was an active member of the Women’s & Italian Clubs.

Frances is predeceased by her father Domenico and her mother Nina Marino who raised her on her own.

Frances is survived by her loving husband Salvatore Marino of Waretown; her children Lisa Loshiavo and her husband Rick, Marc Marino and his wife Kim, and Michele Gilbert and her husband Tim and her beloved grandchildren Lauren, Jenny, Salvatore, Jenna, Meghan, and Brendan.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 20^th from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, November 21^st at 9:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C Church, 61 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island. A burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Staten Island
