Frank Callano, 78 of Long Branch NJ passed away at Monmouth Medical Center on February 20, 2022.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents James Callano and Rose Callano, his brother Joseph “Brother” Callano and his son Frankie Callano who passed on January 15, 2022.
Franklin is survived by his sister Marie Marks, his son Christopher, his niece Joanne, Debbie, Paula and MaryJo and his nephews Jimmy, Jim, and Donnie.
Franklin talked frequently about when he was younger how he spent a lot of time with his older brother Joseph, and he worked with him, and he would talk a lot about the different jobs they together and how he would visit him at Fort Dix when his brother was stationed there.
He loved his sister Marie and enjoyed all the dinners at her home down the street from him.
He loved and admired his brother Joseph, constantly sharing cherished stories of times they spent together and was proud of his brother when he was stationed at Valley Forge.
Franklin was born and raised on 316 Willow Ave in Long Branch. He was lifelong resident of Long Branch.
Franklin was a retired Long Branch High School Teacher. He enjoyed and looked forward to working the football and baseball games at the school.
Franklin was a caddy at Deal Country Club and part of the grounds crew for years. He also was a caddy at Due Process Stables Golf Club in Colts Neck.
Franklin was an active member of the Amerigo Vaspucci Italian Club. He very much loved his Italian roots and heritage. He saved and collected many pictures and memorabilia of generations of his family members, displaying them in his home. He loved and was proud to talk about his Italian family and immigrants.
Franklin was a Navy Veteran, Loved his two sons with all his heart. Christopher and Frank would always say “dad was their best Friend”.
Father, Brother Uncle and Friend, Franklin will be dearly missed.
There will be a mass said in Franklin’s honor requested by his sons, Christopher and Frank in Heaven, at the Star of the Sea Church, 101 Chelsea Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07724 on March 13th, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
