George Kassar (son of Joseph and Emily Kassar) passed away peacefully early Sunday morning Sept 28 at the age of 91. He led a robust life until the last couple of years when Alzheimer's rapidly advanced. His family was his highest priority in life and he worked hard to provide everything and gave unselfishly. He loved splitting his time in Brooklyn and Coral Springs, where he enjoyed the best of both worlds, the fast pace of city living with the quiet solace of southern Florida living. George was very sociable and made everyone feel welcome in his home. George loved his wife Sandra, married and inseparable for 65 years. During that time, many cruise trips were taken to the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. George is survived by his wife Sandra; his 3 children, Joseph (Mary) Kassar, William (Maryann) Kassar, and Gregory (Karen) Kassar; his 4 grandchildren Michael Kassar, Jaclyn Starr, Kathryn Kassar and Jessica Kassar and 4 great-grandchildren Julianna Kassar, Connor Starr, Brandon Kassar and Melody Starr. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Elmo, Joseph Kassar and Vivian Kassar-Lagos. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 10:00 A.M Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at The Church of St. Leo the Great, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
