George Thomas Lynch, 77, of Eatontown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2nd surrounded by his family.
George was born in Long Branch and raised in Vail Homes, Shrewsbury Township. He was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Monmouth Regional High School. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Montclair State College. George was an Industrial Arts teacher who began his career at Dow Avenue School and then moved to Ocean Township Intermediate School where he spent most of his career. While there, he coached the cross-country team for many years. He finished his teaching career at Ocean Township High School before retiring in 2007 after 39 years. While teaching, he was also co-owner of BoLyn Contractors, along with his friend and fellow teacher, David Bohan. After retiring from teaching, George worked part-time at Deal Golf and Country Club.
George married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Pamela, and was married for 55 years. They both enjoyed being members of the First United Methodist Church in Oakhurst. George was an avid runner and participated in many local 5Ks and one marathon. He loved playing golf, traveling, and listening to classic oldies from the 50’s and 60’s. He always enjoyed wood working and giving what he made to his family.
George is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his children, Erik Lynch and Christina DeLallo (Todd); his grandchildren, Nicholas and Samantha DeLallo; and his sisters, Peggy Mullins and Nancy D’Averso. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, three brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ, 07740. A service will be offered at the funeral home at 7:00 PM.
