My fondest memories of Greg are from Maple Place School and include attending professional wrestling matches in Asbury Park and having boxing matches in his basement. Such a fun kid and to echo what everyone else is saying he was always smiling and forever friendly. My condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Sperling and his family, and all of his close friends - which were many.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To the Sperling Family, I will remember Greg by the way he brightened a room when he walked in. If you did not know Greg before, you did by the end of the night. Greg was sure to put a smile on your face and make you laugh. I could always count on Greg's call around the holidays just to catch up and say hello. Also I will never forget the way Greg's family opened their home to so many kids in the neighborhood. Greg you will be missed by many.

Greg was the one person who always made me laugh! From kindergarten to high school graduation there was always that spark in his eyes which made our lives all so colorful. I have so many fond memories of Greg, especially at our high school graduation and our 20 year reunion. I will cherish them forever. But mostly, I am grateful that no matter what, we were friends. Greg, I will miss you always, but I know you are with God in Heaven and in a much better place. Until we meet again, my old friend, I love you.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Sperling family. I'm honored to have called Greg my friend & numb to this heartbreaking news. As someone who lost a younger brother (who happened to wrestle with Greg while still attending Wolf Hill School) I understand how this loss affects the whole family dynamic. It leaves an empty void which time simply can't heal. I grieve along with you and pray you eventually find peace and acceptance. God now has the bluest set of eyes in heaven.

Mr. & Mrs. Sperling, Jeff, Mary, Scott, & Family. We are so deeply saddened and upset to hear about Greg. He was my dear friend growing up and one of my closest and best friends through high school. I will cherish all my loving memories of him forever. Even though I moved away years ago, I still thought about Greg often and all the great times we shared. He will be missed and will always hold a special place in my heart. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Terri & Dan Viti

I am the paralegal for Albert Rescinio, who loved Greg dearly. I loved him too. There has never one single occasion, since my son was diagnosed with MS in 2005, when he did not ask me how my son was doing. Greg was, as Al said this morning (with tears in his eyes), a sweetheart of a man. I will miss him terribly. Go with God, Greg. I will never forget you. Deborah
Albert Rescinio left a message on August 27, 2011:
With deep and heartfelt sympathy I extend love to his family and will miss my friend. We go back a very long way, over 40 years. There are so many memories but through it all Greg always had a big heart and could make you laugh. He always had your back. He would not hesitate to take the shirt off his back for you. We talked often. I cannot express how much I will miss those calls. To know that I will never speak with him again brings such sadness to my heart. There is a part of each of us that dies every time we lose a friend or family member. Life goes on but in ways large and small is irrevocably altered and so it is for me with the passing of my friend. I will miss you deeply Greg. I will think of you often. If I am lucky and prove worthy I will get to see you again at the big beach party in the sky. With love my friend. RIP.
