Tante Hannelore was part of the Hofmann “Sippe/Clan” which meant there were a lot of aunts and uncles that I grew up with. I still remember vividly many Hofmann gatherings were there was a lot of laughter and banter and Tante Hannelore always in the middle of it and enjoying herself. But Tante Hannelore was special for sure since she lived in America and her visits to Germany with Onkel Helmut were always met with much anticipation. I remember her as an uncomplicated, down to earth person with a great sense of humor. Later when my own family lived in the States she always welcomed us into her home and showered us with love and hospitality. Her cooking was famous. Tante Hannelore and Onkel Helmut were inseparable, complementing each other. It is with a heavy heart that we learned of her recent passing and our thoughts go out to Patricia, Larry and family, Susanne, and of course to Onkel Helmut. We wish them all the strength in the world in these dark and trying hours. We will keep Tante Hannelore in our hearts and will always remember her fondly. Martin, Uta, Anna and Paul
Andrea Weber Kost left a message on August 24, 2025:
Hannelore was my godmother. None of my childhood friends had a godmother in America. That was quite something in the 60’s in a small village in Germany. Thanks to her I could visit America at the age of 16: New York, the Broadway, I was so impressed. I remember many more visits and I and later on, Xaver, my husband, we always enjoyed them a lot. It was great to sit at the bar in her kitchen in the morning, she with her coffee and we just talked. She did everything to make us feel welcome. We will miss her a lot. We wish you Helmut, Susanne and Patricia and family much strength and hope during this difficult time. Andrea and Xaver, Basel, Switzerland
