Hee Sub Shim, 75, of New York, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished friend peacefully departed this world Friday, September 1st, leaving behind a legacy that will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Hee Sub Shim was a remarkable woman who possessed an unwavering spirit of kindness, compassion, and wisdom. Born into this world, she embarked on a journey guided by strength and resilience, facing life’s challenges with grace and an indomitable spirit. Her unwavering presence in the lives of her loved ones has been a testament to her unyielding love and devotion.

Throughout her life, Hee Sub Shim exemplified what it means to be a true matriarch. As a wife, mother and grandmother she enriched the lives of her family, providing unwavering support, wisdom, and warmth. Her nurturing nature created a beautiful bond that transcended family ties, making us feel welcomed, accepted, and loved. Her unconditional love and acceptance were always present, reminding us of the power of love and the strength of familial bonds.

Hee Sub Shim was a devoted Christian, with beliefs deep rooted in her faith. She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to hymnal music. She loved Korean food and traveling. She was socially beloved with a huge heart and a capacity for forgiveness and compassion that will forever be unmatched.

Hee Sub Shim leaves behind a tremendous void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to shine through the memories and stories shared by her loving husband Soo Chun Han; adoring sons Hans Keunhyoung Kim and his wife Ellen Paik, and Geun Yong Kim and his wife Damee Choi; 3 siblings; and 4 grandchildren, Darlene, Dason, Daniel, and Nathaniel. Together, they forged a deep and meaningful relationship, exemplifying the beauty of connection and the strength found in unconditional love.

While the splendor of her physical presence may have faded, the legacy of Hee Sub Shim will continue to live on in our hearts and minds. May her beautiful soul find eternal peace and may her memory serve as a guiding light in our lives.
