Helen Victorine DeCerce, 86, of Colts Neck, passed away Wednesday at Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Helen was born and raised in Troy, New York. In 1952 she would meet the love of her life, Jack, at the LaSalle Academy Ball and the two would never look back. They were married on August 27th, 1960. They then began their life together moving around a few times between Albany, NY, Edison, NJ, and Morrisville, PA. They settled in Colts Neck to raise their family.
Helen was an active member of St. Mary’s Church; she loved sports, including tennis and golf and member of Forsgate Country Club where she two holes-in-one. She played tennis and was a talented figure skater. She volunteered at CBA making costumes for the theater and as an election worker and she enjoyed needlepoint.
Helen is survived by her loving husband John “ Jack” DeCerce; her children Sheila Rosa, Lisa Sheehan and her husband John, and Samantha Lawrence and her husband Karl; her grandchildren Meghan Rosa, John “Jay” Rosa, Margaret Sheehan, and Thomas Sheehan; and her beloved great granddaughter August Rosa.
A memorial mass will be held Monday, November 27th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 1 Phalanx Rod, Colts Neck. An entombment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
